Información sobre el sistema de comunicación GazeTalk 5.

GazeTalk es un sistema de introducción predictiva de texto para gente con discapacidades severas. El sistema muestra un teclado en pantalla con un número reducido de caracteres. Esto permite utilizar dispositivos de control con poca precisión espacial, como por ejemplo eye trackers de bajo coste basados en webcams.

El objetivo del proyecto GazeTalk es desarrollar un sistema de comunicación aumentada y alternativa (AAC por sus siglas en inglés) que soporte diversos idiomas, que permita introducir texto eficientemente, y que contenga la suficiente funcionalidad como para ser utilizado por los usuarios como la herramienta de comunicación principal, a la vez que sea lo suficientemente flexible como para ser utilizado con fines de investigación. GazeTalk is a predictive text-entry system for severely disabled people that has a restricted on-screen keyboard with ambiguous layout. The main reason for using such a keyboard layout is that it enables the use of an eye tracker with a low spatial resolution (e.g., a web-camera based eye tracker).
