 This is a grid with three cells across and 3 cells down, that has been adapted for the children’s game "Simon says". The child looks at the yellow cell and recorded or synthetic speech says: "Simon says then everybody must..." then the child chooses cell representing an activity, for instance "jump!" and everybody in the room plays along in the game. It’s important to make this a group activity where the child is in command.

 This is another idea for an enjoyable way to introduce someone to eye control. This story book has been set up so that the person can turn the page just by looking at it. The page contains two inactive cells and one active one. On the top screen, for example, when the person looks at the green ' Turn Page' cell, the grid changes to show a new page. However, the cell of text, like the cell with the picture on it are 'non-active' cells. In other words, while the person is reading the page or looking at a picture, nothing happens. It is only when the person deliberately looks at the 'Turn Page' cell, an 'active cell‘, that something happens.Due to copyright reasons, we cannot distribute the grids above(the images and the books we used are copyrighted).

 However, thanks to Scope and [http://www.childreninthepicture.org.uk www.childreninthepicture.org.uk], we have been given permission from author Margaret Stewart (2006) and illustrator Kathryn Wilson (2006) to use 'Declan and the Donkey' and also permission from author and illustrator Helen Thornhill (2006) to use 'Every Kid is Different'. As you can see, the format is very similar to those above. These are 2x2 story grids. However, select the small picture to hear the narration, the arrow to turn the page and to rest, look at both the text and the large pictures interspersed throughout.
