The IG-30 system allows the easy integration of flexible gaze-controlled computer systems, which allow people with severe physical handicaps the effective communication and environmental control. The system's open architecture allows the use of many available software packages and the customization to the users requirements.

Who can use the system
Target users ALS, Spinal cord injury, Cerebral Palsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Brain injury and others.
What is required from the user Ability to fixate on objects on screen for a short duration. The calibration is stored and therefore persistent over system restarts. The system operates well even if the user has some nystagmus or spastic head movements. It can also work on just one eye if the situation does not allow for binocular tracking.
Can the system be operated entirely by the user without assistance once the system is setup and running? The system interface has been carefully segmented with the goal to allow an independent operation by a handicapped user.

Additional information/accessories The actual functionality of the system depends on the installed (AAC) applications. The IG-30 system acts as a gaze input device, which can then control the Windows desktop, many standard applications or dedicated. Seamless integrations, which maximize the usability of the system, are available for several AAC packages. Gazetalk 5 can be used as well.
Supported languages English, German - will be extended to other European languages.

Setup time 30 min. - due to the wide range of supported monitors and Tablet-PCs some preparation might be required.
Calibration time 10s - required only once per subject.
